sun smart code workshop equipment

Did you know engineers are making a significant impact in the health industry?

Think devices and imaging to look inside the human body, prosthetic limbs and implants, and robotics and automation to improve efficiencies.

In this workshop, you will get to be a software engineer and develop a UV detection device to alert the user when they are at high exposure to UV rays. You will learn basic coding to program an Arduino, and learn about the electrical engineering components behind the scenes to trigger LED sensors based on UV exposure.

Our activities support the curriculum and cover topics in:

  • Coding and digital solutions
  • Technology
  • Design
  • Engineering
