Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The role of the Committee is to inform the development, implementation and review of strategies and plans that support staff and student equity, diversity and inclusion within the Faculty. The Committee provides recommendations to the Faculty Leadership and Advisory Group on policy and initiatives, and advice on University level initiatives. Members will contribute to working groups and other forums to progress equity and diversity.

Engagement Committee

The role of the EAIT Engagement Committee is to provide advice and policy recommendations to support the development of engagement strategies.

The Committee aims to:

  • Foster an environment in the Faculty in which innovative, creative campaigns can be developed and carried out, and in which alumni and community expectations and values are met.
  • Work in conjunction with UQ Advancement on policy development and implementation; and development of the Faculty’s Engagement Strategy to align with the University’s Engagement Plan. 
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to the Executive Dean for School and Centre engagement campaigns with alumni and industry partners.

The role of the Health, Safety and Wellness Committee is to oversee the implementation and development of policies and procedures, review hazard reporting and implement control measures, resolve issues, ensure compliance with central UQ policy and educate staff.

International Development Committee

The role of the International Development Committee is to lead the international strategy for the Faculty, including:

  • providing input for the annual Strategic Plan for International Development,
  • implementing policies and actions,
  • and identifying significant international activity and making recommendations related to the support or coordination of that activity.

The Committee also advises and assists Schools and Centres in utilising resources for international development.

Space and Equipment Committee

The Space and Equipment Committee provides strategic advice and recommendations to the Executive Dean for the improvement of all aspects of space and equipment acquisition, usage and disposal in which the Faculty has an interest. Topics for consideration include space planning, usage analyses, bids for new space or funding for refurbishments, and equipment purchases, usage, location and disposal.

Innovation Group Steering Committee

The Innovation Group Steering Committee oversees the strategic direction of the Innovation Group in support of its teaching, research and engagement activities. It will also consider matters such as staffing, space and equipment requirements, and budget where appropriate for realising the strategic aims of the Group.

The purpose of the EAIT Innovation Group is to support teaching, research and engagement activities by providing technical support for both curricular and extra-curricular hands-on learning, enhancing the student experience, providing professional engineering services to staff, including designing and fabricating prototypes and apparatus for teaching and research purposes, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, and showcasing the work of the Faculty. The group also supports general 3D printing services for the wider UQ community.  

The Innovation Group consists of the UQ Innovate makerspace, the Architecture Workshop, the Instrumentation & Electrical Workshops, and the Advanced Prototyping Workshop (APW).
