Engage with our students

There are many ways employers can engage with our students, from site tours to on-campus events and recruitment opportunities.

Please note, when registering your interest, we request one month's notice to get the best outcome for your event however we understand that might not always be possible.

There are optimal times for events during the semester, for example, when students are not attending exams. We can advise on the best timeframes to maximise your attendees.

Book an employer presentation or workshop on campus (or online)

Book an employer masterclass or presentation on campus (or online) to build your presence with UQ students and provide them with first-hand key information about your organisation.

We have a dedicated event team to assist you with your requests and to ensure you get the most out of your session.

This is a great way to upskill our students as well as build key relationships with our students.

We see particularly good attendance at sessions that are interactive and/or include a real business problem/situation.

We can provide:

  • 1-1.5 hour session (face-to-face or online)
  • promotional material to students
  • option to provide company promotional material to students at an event
  • listing on our event pages
  • social media posts on Careers channels
  • student registration management
  • event moderation and equipment
  • networking and questions time
  • follow-up communication.

Register your interest and be sure to let us know as much information as you can to help us attract the right students to your event.

Advertise and recruit for jobs

Make the most of your recruitment process by advertising to our talented students about your own graduate and intern vacancies.

Our industry partners can advertise employability opportunities through our online portal once you set up an account, at no cost.

CareerHub is an easy-to-use platform that allows our industry partners to advertise domestic job opportunities to our students. Each advertisement is reviewed by the EAIT Student Employability team to ensure they meet our terms and conditions prior to going live. Please see our terms and conditions of advertisement here.

This can also be featured on a number of other internal channels including relevant clubs and societies and our internal Employability jobs board which has around 6000 student and graduate members.

Host a site tour and show our students what your organisation does

The EAIT Student Employability Team can help coordinate site tours for your organisation.

This includes promotion to our students, bookings for students, insurance for the site tour for our students and, on occasion, transportation to most work locations.

These tours are a great way to demonstrate the work that you do and expose your organisation and brand to future talent.

Typically, site tours last around 90 minutes, including time for a Q&A session. But we can tailor the experience to suit you! If eligible, students can also use the time spent on a site tour towards their engineering professional practice requirements.

Site tours have seen positive results both for our students and the organisations involved!

If you are interested in hosting a site tour please don’t hesitate to contact the EAIT Employability Team. We will need to confirm:

  • organisation name
  • lead contact
  • contact email
  • contact number on the day of the site tour
  • ideal date (please provide three options)
  • ideal time
  • maximum number of students allowable for the site tour
  • outline of the tour
  • transport options
  • promotional material including the approved logo.
