Turning AI Uncertainty into Business Value
Overview
This research explores how organisations can transform the uncertainty surrounding artificial intelligence into strategic advantage. It spans collaborations with a diverse range of Australian and international partners, including sectors such as mining, law enforcement, government, and advanced technology. Supported by a global academic network focused on applied AI governance, human-AI teaming, and decision quality, the work draws on unique strengths in information systems, digital strategy, and public-sector collaboration. The research investigates how AI affects decision-making and organisational governance, particularly for knowledge workers, managers, and policymakers. Through empirical studies and design-led approaches, the team develops practical playbooks and policy guidelines that support responsible AI adoption. Outcomes include capability-building programs, executive training modules, and public engagement across major media platforms, all aimed at helping organisations align AI tools, skills, and policies to enhance performance and realise business value.
Members of the research team have partnered with global business software leader SAP to advance AI resilience in the public sector. The collaboration focuses on developing assessment tools to evaluate AI resilience, capability frameworks to address workforce-related resilience gaps, and technical controls embedded in enterprise systems to strengthen technological safeguards. Together, the team will produce an AI Resilience Roadmap, grounded in real-world case studies and stakeholder engagement. The partnership ensures that outputs, such as policy guidelines, design features, and training modules, are practical, scalable, and aligned with the needs of government agencies.
