First Year Engineering Learning Centre
The First Year Engineering Learning Centre (50-C201) is a multi-purpose collaborative space to enhance the experience for Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) single and dual degree students.
The learning space has a relaxed, contemporary design to encourage student interaction, learning and teamwork. The centre promotes student networks and helps to support and smooth the transition from high school to university, and is a place for BE(Hons) students to call 'home'.
What does the FYELC offer?
- Informal collaborative study/ social space.
- First year student experience staff to help with a wide range of enquiries.
- A dedicated first year academic advisor.
- FYELC tutors who are experts in first year courses.
- Bookable study spaces.
- Kitchen facilities.
- Engineering specialisation events.
The centre is staffed by:
- Emeritus Professor Caroline Crosthwaite (First Year BE(Hons) Academic Advisor).
