From designing smart communities to discussing ideas around energy, water and health and information engineering, postgraduate students from the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology seized the opportunity to showcase their latest work at the 10TH annual EAIT Postgraduate Conference.
This year’s theme was innovation through collaboration, bringing together more than 200 participants, academics and industry professionals.
Conference Chair Partha Narayan Mishra said the Conference was aimed towards creating more cross-disciplinary interactions.
“Solutions to most complex engineering problems demand a synergetic approach across several specialisations, highlighting that innovation is fostered in environments that inculcates collaborative research,” he said.
Adjunct Professor from the Centre of Coal Seam Gas, Non-Executive Director of Galilee Energy and Advent Energy, and Deputy Chair of the Queensland Exploration Council, Mr Stephen Kelemen along with Associate Professor from the School of Chemical Engineering Dr Kate O’Brien shared their expertise.
The one-day event also gave postgraduate students a detailed insight into life and potential career paths after completing their master’s and PhD programs, followed by a panel discussion with guests including Professor Paul Lant, Dr Philip Terrill, Dr Kelly Greenop, Dr Liza O’Moore and Mr Clement Chan.
The conference finished with canapés and drinks, giving participants the chance to network and share ideas.
