Engineering (Honours)
(Chemical)

Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Chemical)

Who or what made you choose to study this?

I’m currently studying chemical engineering. I love the specialisation I’m studying as it covers a broad range of engineering which allows me to explore most types of engineering out there and meet other engineers from other disciplines. One of the other reasons for me to love the courses that I’m doing is that it allows me to improve things that already exist and find new ways to create those that don’t.

What do you love most about your degree?

I love the fact that I get so much exposure to team projects and meet different people for every project. I get to really develop my teamwork and communication skills through these team projects.

What’s been your favourite course so far and why?

CHEE2001 – Process Principles is definitely my favourite course so far. It was the first chemical engineering-related course I did in my second year, and it was eye-opening to see and understand different processes used in industries the mass balances I learnt really helped me in both university and workplaces.

Tell us about any internships that you have taken part in.

I have recently completed vacation work with Evolution Mining as a metallurgy vacation student. I really loved the hands-on experiences that are involved and implementing all the knowledge that I have learnt in university into the projects.
