What do you love most about your degree?

There are numerous aspects of my engineering degree that I find immensely enjoyable. One of the things I appreciate most is the balance between theoretical and practical coursework. For example, courses like ENGG1100 (Professional Engineering) and CSSE2010 (Introduction to Computer Systems) provide hands-on learning experiences that allow me to apply what I have learned in the classroom to real-world projects. I find it incredibly fulfilling to see the tangible results of my efforts and the impact that my work can have.

Additionally, I find the problem-solving aspect of engineering to be highly rewarding. Whether I am working on a complex design project, analyzing data, or writing code, I enjoy the challenge of finding innovative solutions to real-world problems. Overall, my engineering degree offers a unique blend of intellectual stimulation and hands-on learning experiences, and I am thoroughly enjoying every aspect of it.

The best piece of advice I could give someone considering studying at UQ is…

Take advantage of the hands-on learning opportunities, industry connections, and engineering clubs and societies. UQ offers practical courses that allow students to apply their knowledge and has a vast network that can provide valuable connections. The University also has a thriving community of engineering clubs, such as the UQ Robotics Club, UQ Aerospace Society, UQ Women in Engineering, UQ Engineers Without Borders, and UQ Renewable Energy Society, that allow students to explore their interests and connect with others. Maximise your time at UQ and make the most of what the Uni has to offer.
