What do you love most about your degree?

The part I love most about my degree is the number of challenging concepts I am exposed to.  It’s tough to make sense of difficult ideas, but once I understand them it’s very satisfying.

What’s been your favourite course so far and why?

My favourite course so far has been Introduction to Software Engineering (CSSE1001). I went into this course with very little programming knowledge and was initially unsure what to expect from it, but I ended up loving it!  The course programming assignments that I completed were some of the most interesting I have ever done. I created a playable chess game that incorporated user inputs, implemented the logic behind Pokémon interactions, and coded a space-invaders-type game that was also playable. I would highly recommend this course to any engineering student.

The best piece of advice I could give someone considering studying at UQ is…

Chances are that if you pick something you’re good at, you’ll enjoy it.  Don’t fall behind the workload! University is designed to be manageable if you are methodical and have good self-discipline.
