Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical and Aerospace) / Master of Engineering

Why did you choose to study at UQ?

UQ offers an integrated master’s program for engineering which not every university does. It allows you to obtain your master’s degree faster and you also do a master’s placement semester in your 4th or 5th year where you gain real industry experience. You have the opportunity to study abroad through the European Double Degree program as well.

The best piece of advice I could give someone considering studying at UQ is…

Do the flexible first-year program. At the start of my first year, I wanted to specialise in civil or chemical. After completing the flexible first year, I realised that those specialisations weren’t of interest to me anymore and allowed me to select my current specialisation.

Tell us about any student societies and clubs you are a member of

I am a member of the Engineering Undergraduate Society and UQ Mechanical Engineering Student Society. They hold many networking sessions which are incredibly valuable in terms of internships and job opportunities. I also joined the UQ Cheer and dance club just for a bit of fun and to make new friends.
