Engineering (Honours)
(Mechatronic)

Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechatronic) /Master of Engineering

Who or what made you choose to study this?

In school, I participated in a variety of STEM programs which sparked my love for robotics and passion for making an impactful difference in the future. Since I have always enjoyed maths, science, problem-solving, and puzzles, I chose to study engineering. During my first year, I enjoyed all the software, electrical and mechanical engineering courses and thus chose mechatronics as my field of study. I decided to study the integrated Bachelor and Master of Engineering Program to receive a wider range of skills, knowledge, and experience and ultimately be better prepared for my future career.

What do you love most about your degree?

I love the combination of software, electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines in mechatronics, allowing for a diversified knowledge in many fields. I also love all the group projects as they are a fun and interactive way to develop skills, receive hands-on experience and work with new people.

What’s been your favourite course so far and why?

My favourite course has been METR2800, a design project course. This was my first mechatronic course where I worked with a team to build a robot to detect a target and shoot a laser. I really enjoyed working with my team through the many challenges, despite needing to put in a lot of hard work and time.
