Who or what made you choose to study this?

My interest in mathematics and science in high school led me to want to work in a STEM-related field. That gave me a range of career paths to choose from. I found it interesting to study in a field that would enable me to learn about a variety of cutting-edge technologies and their applications. I wanted to learn how to contribute on a small and big scale to better my community. I found programming, automation, and the integration of robotics fascinating and so I knew that Engineering would be a field in that I could and would be successful.

Why did you choose to study at UQ?

UQ is one of the top universities and provides world-class education, which not only offers an amazing chance to learn from the best but also enables opportunities for the development of initiatives through the collaboration of like-minded individuals. Furthermore, I chose UQ because of the campus life – I found there to be a range of activities that interested me, and I was impressed by the level of support that was available. The beauty of the campus also played a role in my decision to study at UQ.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?

I would encourage them to consider the variety of opportunities that are available at UQ – the course, the extra-curricular, and the support – and then compare that against their expectations of a university. I would also inform them of the places and events that would be of interest to them and where they could connect with other like-minded individuals.
