Engineering (Honours)
(Electrical and Computer)

Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical)

Who or what made you choose to study this?

In high school, my favorite and best subjects were Maths and Physics which persuaded me to choose engineering as a career path. I initially wanted to study Biomedical Engineering, however, after taking a flexible first year and getting a glimpse into all the different types of engineering, I settled on studying electrical and computer engineering.

What do you love most about your degree?

I love the practical aspect of my degree and learning about real-world applications. The coding courses have definitely been my favourite courses so far.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?

My advice would be to get involved in some of the clubs and societies that are offered by UQ. Go meet new people that share your interests, whether that be in sports or hobbies. While GPA is important, university is also about meeting new people and having some fun and joining a club is a great way to find a balance between study and social life.
