Who or what made you choose to study this?
Throughout my high school years, I have always had an interest in STEM and after exploring different degrees within, I found out engineering offers the broadest opportunities.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?
Don’t be afraid, or let the fact of being a first year stopping you from applying, trying out and participating in different opportunities. You never know how one opportunity might lead to the next in an utterly unexpected way. When it comes to making the most of your opportunities in your study, take some time to work out what major, or even another EAIT degree that appeals to you since there are always stories of people ended up choosing a completely different major as what they set their mind to before university started!
What do you hope to do when you graduate?
I am interested in pursuing a career in water industry, or renewable energy sector at the moment, and it would be fantastic if I will have the chance to combine my interest in data science with my career. Having the freedom and opportunities to travel around Australia and also internationally will be a key facet of my dream job too.
