Master of Engineering

Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Chemical and Environmental) / Master of Engineering

Who or what made you choose to study this?

I have always been passionate about STEM and the environment, but my mother being an environmental scientist gave me the courage to pursue a career in STEM as a woman.

What’s been your favourite course so far and why?

Humanitarian Engineering (ENGG2000), it was a very rewarding class as it taught me the importance of human centred designs and involving everyone in the conversation when producing a product.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

Make a meaningful impact in sustainability and environmental preservation. I would love to work with a company that focuses on innovative solutions for resource management, waster reduction, or sustainable energy. Ultimately, I want to work on projects that contribute to both environmental and social wellbeing.

Are you a member of any student societies / participate in extra curricular activities? Tell us a bit about it.

I am actively involved in a few extracurricular activities that enhance my student university experience. I play in a social soccer team, which helps me stay active and build strong teamwork skills in a fun and supportive environment. In addition, I am a member of the Chemical Engineering Student Society, Engineering Undergraduate Society, and UQ Skirts. These societies provide opportunities for networking, professional development, and collaboration with fellow students. They have allowed me to engage with the wider engineering community, attend industry events, and participate in social activities that foster connections and friendships.
