Who or what made you choose to study this?
From a young age, I loved reading books and magazines about the latest technological innovations and
scientific breakthroughs. But robotics always fascinated me the most—the development of humanoid
robots, autonomous systems, and SAR robots showcased the incredible potential of technology. This
passion for robotics naturally led me to study mechatronics engineering, where I could explore the
intersection of mechanical design, electronics, and programming to bring these innovations to life.

Why did you choose to study at UQ?
I chose to study at UQ because of its strong reputation and rich history in education, offering great
opportunities for academic, professional, and personal growth. The campus, diverse programs, and
world-class facilities provide valuable resources for hands-on learning. My decision was further solidified
when the UQ Women in Engineering Ambassadors visited my high school – the experience was
inspiring and reinforced my desire to pursue engineering at UQ.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that
be?

To make the most of the resources and opportunities available at UQ! Do everything you are interested
in even if it’s out of your comfort zone. Get involved in clubs and societies, attend various events, and
take part in extracurricular activities. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people and enrich your overall
university experience.

Have you participated in any internships / work? If so tell us a bit about it, what did you enjoy
most about the experience?

I recently spent a month in San Francisco interning at Persist AI, a Biotech startup. It was an incredible
opportunity to work on cross-disciplinary innovation projects, where I was able to apply my engineering
skills in a real-world context. Collaborating closely with inspiring and talented professionals allowed me
to gain valuable insights and experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
