Engineering (Honours)
(Mechanical and Aerospace)
Master of Engineering

Degree: Bachelor of Engineering, (Mechanical and Aerospace) / Master of Engineering

Who or what made you choose to study this?

I chose to study mechanical engineering as I really enjoyed the ENGG1500 course from first year
engineering and wanted to learn more about how machines work and how they interact with the
environment to be useful.

What do you love most about your degree?

The satisfying feeling of understanding how the math and theory come together, to make sense of the
engineering behind ordinary things around us.

What’s been your favourite course so far and why?

ENGG1500: Thermodynamics was an interesting first year course. It was different to many other first
year courses and there were lots of new concepts that I hadn’t been taught before in high school
engineering/ science subjects. It was a course that gave me a good idea of what mechanical
engineering was all about.|

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that
be?

Say yes to any opportunities that come your way while at UQ as there will always be something useful
you can learn/ gain from it.
