Why did you choose to study at UQ?
UQ is part of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight (G8) and one of the highest-ranking academic institutions in the world. Apart from its awesome sandstone buildings, UQ also takes pride in its strong community of international students. Apart from its academic programs, UQ also provides many extracurricular activities for its students, such as UQ Ventures and Global Experience programs.
What do you love most about your degree?
What do you love most about your degree? What I love most about my degree is that it cuts across different fields. Wherever you look, there’s cyber security. This gives me a wider set of career options and does not limit my opportunities to just a specific industry. A degree in cyber security is also quite exciting and challenging given the world’s constantly evolving threat landscape. I get to examine case studies on massive privacy breaches while they are being reported in the news!
What’s been your favourite course so far and why?
I am very much fascinated with the intersections of technology and regulation. This is why I especially love my course on cybersecurity governance, ethics, and the law. As I am currently pursuing the program’s leadership track, these topic areas as especially relevant to my future career aspirations.
