Who or what made you choose to study this?
I decided to pursue a Master of Data Science because of my passion for working with data and extracting meaningful insights from it. The increasing importance of data-driven decision-making in various industries, coupled with my background in Software Engineering, inspired me to advance my skills and knowledge in data science. Additionally, the growing demand for professionals with expertise in this field and the potential for making a positive impact on businesses and society further motivated my decision to pursue this degree.
What do you love most about your degree?
The practical projects and real-world applications allowed me to apply my theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, thus fostering a sense of achievement. In addition, the collaborative learning environment and interactions with knowledgeable faculty members provided me with a rich educational experience.
What’s been your favourite course so far and why?
DATA7001, Introduction to Data Science has been my favorite course so far. It was one of the courses I took during my initial semester at UQ. This class provided me with a comprehensive overview of Data Science, offering insights into the roles and responsibilities of a Data Scientist, as well as the potential career paths in the field. The Lecturers and tutors exhibited great patience and responsibility, and I gained a substantial amount of knowledge from their guidance. I am sincerely grateful for their contributions, and the course has left a lasting and positive impression on me.
