Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/ Bachelor of Science (Physics)

What do you love most about your degree?

I love the facilities and the topics I study. To think that I would be able to enjoy my passion while having access to the top facilities and equipment makes me value this degree even more. However, I would say I value my friends the most. With all the experiences I’ve faced and every event that happened last year, I couldn’t have made it through without the closest people I’ve met through UQ. To think that almost a year ago I had no idea these people existed and now they are the most important people in my life meeting through the UQ campus. I am very thankful!

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?

To always open up and meet new people. You never know who you meet and I’ve met so many new people that had changed my life forever, giving me new experiences and knowledge! and of course study study and study hard!

What’s been your favourite course so far and why?

I loved ENGG1300 (Introduction to Electrical Systems) because of the tutors, academics, equipment and experiences. I also loved the content we covered on that topic. It was very hands-on and a lot more in-depth than I originally thought but I’ve learnt so much: electrical circuits, DC, AC, analysis through phasors, communication/filters, power systems and modulation are some of my favourite topics. This is why I’ve decided to pursue a further career in Electrical Engineering as the tutors and professors have inspired me a lot!

I’ve also really enjoyed PHYS1001, PHYS1002 and MATH2001 as those subjects really took my interests and knowledge that I covered in high school to a new level and I have learnt so much! Everything from Quantum Mechanics, Special relativity, and Optics down to simple classical physics along with the mathematics behind inner products and vector spaces. I’ve enjoyed everything so much and I treasure every moments I was able to study those subjects!
