Engineering (Honours)
(Software / Data Science)

Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Software Engineering / Data Science)

Who or what made you choose to study this?

I decided to study software engineering after discovering my interests and passion lie in databases, data science and programming. This was discovered after previously doing a dual degree in Electrical Engineering and Comp Science.

Why did you choose to study at UQ?

I chose to study at UQ as it has a very high reputation and quality of education which I personally experienced through various activities that I did in high school that had partnered with UQ. Furthermore, the opportunities that are provided in UQ for growth and development in your career both domestically and internationally were also attractive opportunities that the university provided.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

When I graduate, I hope to be working as a software engineer with there being flexibility in the tasks that I would prefer to be doing. I would love to collaborate with other engineers in the maintenance of their databases or the analysis of their data or work as a programmer to create, implement or improve features and/or applications that other clients may request in the company that I am working at (whether it be a large corporate business or a start-up)
