About Careers in Engineering | Industry insights from Jacobs

Hosted by EAIT Employability in collaboration with Jacobs

What does it actually look like to work on major engineering projects?

Join EAIT Employability and Jacobs for an industry insights session exploring engineering roles, project work and the transition from university to industry.

Students will hear from Jacobs representatives about what engineers do day to day, how different disciplines collaborate on projects, and what professional skills can support early career development.

This session is most relevant to engineering students, with discussion focused on engineering roles, consulting, project work and industry readiness. Students from other EAIT disciplines are also welcome if they are interested in Jacobs’ multidisciplinary work and broader career development insights.

What you will take away:

  • a better understanding of what engineers do in a project-based environment
  • perspectives on how different disciplines collaborate on projects
  • practical advice on professional skills, industry readiness and recruitment
  • opportunities to ask questions and connect with Jacobs representatives

The session will include a Jacobs welcome, short presentation, panel discussion, Q&A and informal networking.
