Explore Day is still a one-day experience, now offered on 16 or 17 July 2026 so your school can choose what suits best. Get in quick, capacity is limited.

What does the day involve?

Students will participate in a panel session, walking tour and two hands-on workshops while connecting and engaging with our friendly Student Leaders and Faculty staff.

Important Information: 

  • We ask that teachers sign up their students’ as a school group. We will require individual details from the attendees for workshop assignment, catering purposes, and participation certificates.
  • Please note each workshop has a maximum capacity, and registrations for individual workshops in each session will close once this number is reached. 
  • Registration closes on Thursday 2 April 2026 at 5:30 pm AEST, end of Term 1. Please register here before the closing date.
  • Schedule and workshops are subject to change due to availability or weather conditions.

 

 

About Explore Engineering Day

The UQ Women in Engineering (WE) team are delighted to host our flagship annual event of the year, WE Explore Engineering Day.

WE Explore Engineering Day showcases the diverse engineering opportunities at UQ through hands-on workshops, interactive presentations, and tours of the engineering precinct including the state-of-the-art makerspace facility, UQ Innovate and the new Andrew N. Liveris Building, home of Chemical Engineering.

Our program is proudly supported by our industry program partners, Anglo American, The Australian Power Institute, EM Solutions, Energy Queensland (through Ergon Energy + Energex), Hatch, Origin Energy, PowerlinkQueensland Rail, Rio Tinto, Sandvik, and VINCI Energies.
