Bachelor of
Regional and Town Planning

Degree: Bachelor of Regional Town Planning

Who or what made you choose to study this?

I was looking to study a degree in the EAIT field and town planning seemed something that was different to most other degrees.

Why did you choose to study at UQ?

The programs offered at UQ aligned well with my interests and UQ has a vibrant campus especially during Spring and the community seemed very supportive even post-graduation.

What do you love most about your degree?

I would love to have a real, positive impact on communities, and I believe town planning combines creativity, problem-solving, and sustainability which I enjoyed studying during secondary school.

What’s been your favourite course so far and why?

My favourite course so far has been PLAN1000 because it involves a lot of teamworking skills and because it’s such a small class, it’s easier to bond.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?

Make the most of everything outside of the classroom. For me personally, the clubs have primarily been an opportunity to meet people from over the globe. Early involvement not only aids in community building but also creates opportunities that can influence your entire academic and professional journey.
