Degree: Bachelor of Engineering / Electrical Engineering
What do you love most about your degree?
I love how this environment (including peers and the opportunities the faculty provides us) prompts me to dig deeper into the knowledge of this field.
What’s been your favourite course so far and why?
NGG1500 Thermodynamics. Although I did not choose Chemical Engineering as my specialization at last, but I am really grateful how ENGG1500 gave me the confidence to study in the field of engineering. As a student who wanted to study in vet more than engineering in high school, I was actually worried
about whether I could follow up with the content or not. However, after ENGG1500 with all kinds of academic support the course provided us, I gained the confidence to study in the bachelor of engineering which I chose on my own.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?
I will highly recommend them to follow all UQ Instagram accounts to follow up with the most up-to-date opportunities. I find some of the events and announcements really helpful to support me through my first year in UQ.
Have you participated in any internships / work? If so tell us a bit about it, what did you enjoy most about the experience?
Unluckily, as a second-year international student, I have not participated in any internships before due to a lack of knowledge and understanding in the whole internship system in Australia. I also tried to apply for the EAIT casual tutor but unfortunately, there are candidates that are better than me. However, I will definitely keep on enhancing my personal abilities this year in order to make myself a stronger candidate in the job market.
