Degree: Bachelor of Electrical Engineering/ Masters of Engineering
Who or what made you choose to study this?
I initially chose engineering because I enjoyed math and saw its strong career prospects. Studying it felt like an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how engineering shapes everyday life. Now, in my second year, I’m not only focused on developing my technical skills but also on refining my professional soft skills, knowing they’re just as essential for success in the field.
Why did you choose to study at UQ?
I chose UQ for its high ranking and the opportunities it offers beyond academics. There are so many ways to get involved—whether it’s through leadership, community service, or industry connections—all of which help you grow both professionally and personally. Plus, being part of such a big university means you get to meet people from all walks of life, which makes the whole university experience even more rewarding.
What’s been your favourite course so far and why?
ENG1300 has been the most interesting and enjoyable course for me so far. However, I think CSSE2010 might soon take its place—I’m really enjoying both the theoretical concepts and their practical applications.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?
Be disciplined—focus and work hard when it’s time, and you’ll earn more free time.
