Master of Engineering,

Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace

Who or what made you choose to study this?

Aerospace engineering has always fascinated me—the idea of creating and designing new technology
that can push the boundaries of what is possible in aviation and space exploration is incredibly exciting.
From a young age, I was drawn to how things work and how they can be improved, which naturally led
me to engineering. The combination of problem-solving, creativity, and technical challenges in this field
makes it the perfect fit for me.

Why did you choose to study at UQ?

UQ stood out to me as the best place to study engineering due to its world-class facilities, strong
industry connections, and reputation for producing highly skilled graduates. The university offers cutting edge research opportunities and hands-on learning experiences, which I believed would give me the
best foundation for achieving my long-term career goals. Beyond academics, the beautiful campus and
vibrant student community made UQ the ideal place to develop both professionally and personally.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that
be?

Get involved in everything. University is about more than just studying—there are so many opportunities
to join student societies, participate in events, meet new people, and build valuable skills. Being involved
in extracurricular activities helps with networking, developing leadership skills, and making university a
much more rewarding experience.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

After graduating, I hope to work for a few years in the aerospace industry, ideally focusing on propulsion systems and sustainable aviation technology. My long-term goal is to start my own aerospace company in Australia, helping to advance the country’s role in the industry and contribute to cutting-edge technological development.
