Exploring Manufacturing in Indonesia: Funded 4-week study tour in Bandung

This 4-week immersive study tour explores manufacturing engineering in one of Southeast Asia’s key industrial regions. Through site visits, hands-on workshops, and expert-led lectures, students will gain practical insights into industrial production, defense industry perspectives, and Indonesia’s practices in automation.

This New Colombo Plan (NCP) program blends technical learning with cultural exchange, preparing future leaders in sustainable innovation, inviting Australian students to delve into the world of manufacturing in the vibrant surroundings of Bandung, Indonesia.

The program will support 20 students who are enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Engineering, Mechanical or Mechatronic, to participate in a four-week program based in Bandung, Indonesia.

The NCP is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake study in the region.

The project builds on UQ’s links with Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB).

Selected students will each be offered a mobility grant of AU$4,000 to support costs, including flights, program fees, and incidental expenses. Please see more information in the ‘Costs’ section below.
