Industry Masterclass | Communication skills for career success

Communication is one of the most in-demand skills employers look for in graduates, yet it's often the skill students feel least prepared for when entering the workplace.

Join UQ alumna Zoe Little, Program Delivery Manager at Queensland Rail, as she shares real examples from engineering projects and leadership roles where communication made the difference between success and failure.

Through practical activities and workplace scenarios, you'll explore how to:

• Navigate disagreement, confrontation and workplace conflict professionally
• Tailor your communication to different audiences
• Communicate effectively with peers, managers, senior leaders and stakeholders
• Solve problems without clear guidance

Drawing on her experience leading multidisciplinary project teams, Zoe will share the communication and interpersonal skills that help graduates build strong professional relationships, contribute confidently in the workplace and stand out early in their careers.
