About Careers, Equity and Balance in Engineering

Centred on this year’s Women in Engineering theme, Balance the Scales, this panel brings together UQ alumni and engineering professionals to share practical insights on career development, equity and wellbeing in the profession.

Designed for current engineering students, the session will explore how careers evolve from university into industry, how ideas of balance shift across different career stages, and what support networks can make a difference along the way.

Panellists will reflect on their own career journeys, discuss key challenges and opportunities in the profession, and share perspectives on mentorship, connection and long-term career growth.
