Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at Devco Australia - a privately owned business manufacturing and importing a wide range of sulphur products for the Agricultural and Industrial markets throughout Australasia.
What will the site tour cover?
- How a sulphur processing business operates, including the handling and storage of molten sulphur. Class 4.1 Flammable Solid.
- Processing of molten sulphur into solid prilled sulphur
- LP Steam boiler and steam heating system across the site (basic thermodynamics).
- Solids handling, conveying, silo storage, bagging and storage
- How sulphur fits with Oil and Gas refining, and as a waste product of Refining, how we convert a waste material into a beneficial re-use product.
- Safety Systems for handling dangerous goods products
What to wear
Students must wear long sleeves and pants. Steel cap boots would be preferred, as this will allow the students access to all areas of the site. Helmets and glasses will be provided.
