Women in Engineering: Celebrating Diversity Cocktail Reception 2025
Hosted by the UQ Women in Engineering Alumni Ambassador Council, our annual Celebrating Diversity Cocktail Reception is an occasion to acknowledge and celebrate advancements in diversity throughout the year.
Come together with engineering alumni, industry partners, student leaders and EAIT Faculty representatives for an evening of drinks, canapés and great conversation.
The reception will include an engaging address by Harry Ashton, Perimeter Director, VINCI Energies Australia Northeast, our newest Women in Engineering Program partners, along with an exclusive update from Nicola Hesse, Student Leader in the Women in Engineering Program.
Tickets are $35 per person (plus GST). Your ticket includes a three-hour premium drinks and canapés package.
Speakers
Harry Ashton
Harry Ashton is the Perimeter Director at VINCI Energies Australia Northeast, where he leads a diverse portfolio of industrial and infrastructure businesses. Since joining the VINCI Energies group in 2016, Harry has built a reputation for strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to safety and team development. He actively supports initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion, including mentoring programs and leadership pathways for emerging professionals.
Nicola Hesse
Nicola is a fifth-year Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) student, specialising in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. As a passionate advocate and student leader within the Women in Engineering community, she is committed to empowering and inspiring more women to pursue meaningful careers in the engineering industry. This year, Nicola travelled to Townsville as part of the WE Regional Outreach Tour, where she connected with young women and shared her journey in STEM.
