We are excited to invite all UQ Computer Science or IT students, academics, and staff to join us for a double celebration: International Women's Day and the UQ ACM-W Student Chapter Launch, a new initiative to support and encourage women in computing at UQ and beyond.
This is a valuable opportunity to network, learn, and grow with other women in computing, both students and academics, and to hear from our esteemed guest speakers.
Take a break from the bytes and enjoy some bites! Perfect for nibbling while you network!
About UQ ACM-W Student Chapter
The Association for Computing Machinery - Women (ACM-W) supports, celebrates, and advocates for Women in Computing with more than 70,000+ members world-wide. As the first university in Australia to establish a Student Chapter, UQ is excited to be welcomed into a global network of professional women in computing.
The ACM-W at UQ Student Chapter, Australia’s first official ACM-W student chapter, is dedicated to supporting women and gender-diverse students in computing. As part of the global ACM-W network, we provide opportunities for networking, mentorship, and professional growth, while celebrating diversity and fostering community across all study levels, from undergraduate to PhD.
