About this event

Join us as we talk to two very passionate female engineers, Amanda Merrick and Negin Beaton as part of the ‘Trust me, I’m an Engineer’ series!

We’ll be discussing their careers so far, the opportunities they have been afforded through engineering, their university experience and much more.

Amanda Merrick has degrees in Engineering (Civil), Business (Man) and a Masters in Project Management. With over 20 years experience working in the public and private sector Amanda has a wealth of experience to share with anyone considering a career in engineering. Negin Beaton has a degree in Mining Engineering and over 10 years experience in the dynamic resources sector, with a focus on safe and efficient drill and blast and mine production design.

Both Amanda and Negin currently work within The University of Queensland’s Women in Engineering Program, an university-led, industry-funded program committed to improving gender diversity in engineering with the goal of increasing undergraduate female enrolment into Engineering programs to 30% by 2023.

Secure your spot for this presentation and feel free to send any questions through to we@eait.uq.edu.au and we will endeavour to answer them during the presentation!
