Current Student: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Master of Engineering
I was a curious child, the frequent "why, Mum?" type, thinking big in small places. Mostly through the internet, I marvelled at the wonders that bleeding-edge technology has produced and how it's helped people. But physically seeing, touching, and experimenting brings science to life. Simple things I saw as a kid like a 3D printer or robotic arm was fantastic like sci-fi magic.
That's when I knew I wanted to be a part of those innovations. That's why I bring student projects back home to the amazement of smiling little faces. I think the Mobile Makerspace has the potential to inspire the next generation of curious children. That's essential to pushing the scientific frontier and solving the big, existential problems our generation will face. The funding and resources simply currently do not exist in these regional and remote towns.
Inspire future STEM professionals across regional and remote Queensland through an immersive education experience
The UQ Mobile Makerspace initiative aims to bridge the gap for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students outside major city centres. It also supports hands-on creativity and applied problem-solving, encouraging students to explore a wide range of disciplines, from science, technology and engineering through to architecture, design, planning and other fields that benefit from innovative and interdisciplinary thinking.
