Degree: Bachelor of Architectural Design
Who or what made you choose to study this?
While studying Interior Architecture, I realised I wanted to go further in the field. I discovered a passion for how design shapes human experience and connection to place. That led me to architecture, where I can explore computational sustainable design, interior aesthetics, and biophilic incorporation in human-centred spaces that respond meaningfully to their sites.
What do you love most about your degree?
I love how it blends creativity with technical thinking. Every project feels like an opportunity to integrate ideas such as sustainability, computational methods, and human-centred design into spaces that are both functional and inspiring.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?
Make an effort to talk to people and make friends early on. Everyone is really friendly, and being part of a community helps so much, not just with uni, but with making great memories and really enjoying what you're learning.
Have you participated in any internships / work? If so tell us a bit about it, what did you enjoy most about the experience?
Yes, I’ve had some industry experience. It was eye-opening to see how the architecture field works in real life. You’re constantly learning and every day is different with new meetings and challenges, which I really enjoyed.
What do you hope to do when you graduate?
I hope to work in a firm for a few years to build up experience while exploring sustainable and biophilic approaches in real projects. Eventually, I’d love to either start my own practice or run a business related to design and styling, editorial work for magazines, or even set design.
