Who or what made you choose to study this?

Growing up, I was always fascinated by how technology could be used to improve people's lives, especially in medicine. I was particularly inspired by seeing how prosthetics could restore mobility and independence to people who had lost limbs or were born with physical challenges. The combination of engineering and science felt like the perfect path. Engineering gives me the tools to design and build, while science helps me understand the biology and mechanics behind the human body. Seeing the real-world impact that prosthetic technology can have is what truly motivates me to pursue this field.

Why did you choose to study at UQ?

I chose to study at UQ because I fell in love with the campus the first time I visited. It felt welcoming, vibrant, and full of opportunities. I also had the chance to speak with a few UQ student ambassadors who genuinely inspired me. Hearing their experiences, especially around hands-on learning and the supportive community, made me excited to be part of it. UQ felt like the perfect place for me to grow both personally and academically.

What do you love most about your degree?

What I love most about my degree is the social aspect and the people I've met along the way. I've made some of the best friendships of my life through this degree. The people are supportive, driven, and genuinely fun to be around, which makes coming into uni something I always look forward to. On top of that, there are always so many opportunities to get involved, whether it's through clubs, events, or leadership roles. It creates such a positive and motivating environment to learn and grow in.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?
