Engineering (Honours)
(Mechatronics)

Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours),  Mechatronics Major

Who or what made you choose to study this?

While it was mostly my own choice, my father had also been an engineer in the past and his passion for his job also affected my choice in engineering.

What do you love most about your degree?

I love the variety of topics covered, as well as the hands-on group projects which enable us to design and create our versions of solutions for a given problem (ENGG1100, METR2800)

What’s been your favourite course so far and why?

My favourite course so far has probably been ENGG1300, I really enjoyed the way the course had been structured, especially the bi-weekly workshops which not only allowed us to review the topics learned in the lectures but also gave us a chance to see the practical aspects of what we were learning.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering studying at UQ, what would that be?

I would advise them to get involved in as many things as you can, as it not only enables you to branch out to a variety of people but also provides new opportunities for you. Not to mention letting you make new friends as well.
