Workshop details
What's next for the experienced engineer and how can I keep all the plates spinning?

The mid-career phase of someone’s professional life can be filled with great opportunities, unique challenges and may even include a complete change of direction. No other stage can so pivotally define your career.

Nowadays there are numerous reasons why people leave the workforce for a period of time creating challenges and considerations for re-entering the workforce. Yet, as we enter the mid-career phase we all face the age-old challenge of managing work-life-balance and shaping a successful career whilst juggling extra commitments which may include, raising a family, caring for elderly parents, completing extra study, returning from overseas travel or a career break to name a few.

This is also an opportune time to reflect on a company’s talent development and promotional pipeline. There may be some tough questions to answer, particularly from a diversity, flexibility and support perspective, however it may help you to determine whether you progress down the technical or leadership path, or maybe even take a complete left turn.
