What do you study?

I am studying a Bachelor of Architectural Design.

Why did you choose to study at UQ?

The highly regarded Architecture program that has an emphasis on design was the main reason why I chose to study at UQ. The university was also highly recommended to me as many members of my family also attended UQ and enjoyed their experience.

Why did you choose to study your discipline?

After graduating high school, I was still unsure what I wanted to study at university. I began studying a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy but quickly discovered that that wasn’t the career for me. The following year I changed into a Bachelor of Architectural Design and couldn’t be any happier.

What advice do you have for prospective students interested in studying engineering, architecture, computer science and/or information technology at UQ?

My advice for prospective students is to make sure that you chose a degree that excites you. If you love what you’re studying everything will become so much more rewarding and you’ll want to put in all the extra effort.

What is your favourite place on campus?

I love being outside so The Great Court is definitely my favourite place and where I spend my time between classes.

What do you love most about your degree?

Although architecture is incredibly time consuming and challenging, I still love my degree. My favourite thing about studying architecture is that my problem-solving skills and creativeness are constantly being challenged and improved. I also love working together and forming close friendships with like-minded peers in the studio.

What makes you a great EAIT Student Ambassador?

I am a good EAIT Student Ambassador because I use my skills and knowledge to help prospective students find the right degree for them. Although I graduated from high school three years ago, I still remember just how difficult it was to know what to study at university. I attended a high school in rural Queensland and gained a lot from having student ambassadors come to my school and I would like to return this gift. Currently, I am also an academic mentor at The Women’s College where I’ve gained interpersonal, leadership and teamwork skills.
