What do you study?

I study Software Engineering.

Why did you choose to study at UQ?

I am a transfer student from India. I chose UQ because of the world class facilities it provides not only related to academics, but also other activities like sports, successful leadership programs such EAIT LAMP that I attended last year. Another significant reason was how UQ takes care of all its students, especially in tough times.

Why did you choose to study your discipline?

Software engineering is an evergreen field because technology is continuously advancing and UQ plays a key role here as it promotes practical learning instead of just having theoretical knowledge, which I believe is very necessary.

What advice do you have for prospective students interested in studying engineering, architecture, computer science and/or information technology at UQ?

I would suggest these students to be regular and honest with their learnings and enhance their team work as well as leadership skills to get real world knowledge.

What is your favourite place on campus?

The UQ Lakes garden area, it is pure nature and too beautiful.

What do you love most about your degree?

The opportunities it will offer me after I graduate and make me qualified enough to contribute something to the society.

What makes you a great EAIT Student Ambassador?

Having completed almost a year at UQ, I have learnt many things. I would like to mention and thank the EAIT LAMP 2019 which boosted my confidence level and developed my leadership as well as understanding skills. Additionally, being a part of UQ Virtual Village I have also improved my communication skills and made new friends. I am determined enough to build myself and my career with the skills that I’ve imbibed throughout and I therefore I feel I’d make a good EAIT Student Ambassador.
