This is your chance to attend the biggest employability event dedicated to EAIT students of the year- Kickstart your Career Bootcamp, hosted by The University of Queensland's Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology Student Employability Team.

Looking for ways to enhance your employability but don’t know where to start? This one-day event will provide engineering, design, architecture and computing students at UQ the opportunity to enhance their career identities, strengths and where their personal and professional values are positioned. Through hands-on, diverse and inspiring sessions all run by industry, the Bootcamp will encourage you to start forward thinking about your future careers with content and resources that are needed in addition to your degree to be job ready. The night event, allowing you to put your new-found skills into action at the Industry Mixer (Design Jam) in collaboration with UQ Ventures – where you will work with key industry members on an immersive design challenge to develop an innovative and practical solution to a real-life industry problem. 

By attending this event, you will have the opportunity to:
• Learn the employability skills that you are wanting to develop – with self-selected sessions 
• Network with industry, alumni and your fellow peers
• Find out how to gain experience when you have no experience
• Engineering students may be able to claim up to seven (7) Type B hours (under Category 8) for attending this event. See the activity table for full details
• Develop technical skills through hands-on masterclasses including interview practice, resume writing and industry techniques for standing out in the job application process. 
• Hear top tips from UQ alumni and industry professionals
• Learn about personal branding and LinkedIn

The day is open for all engineering, architecture, design and computing students from The University of Queensland. Every session is run by INDUSTRY and there are sessions to cater ALL our EAIT students and disciplines. SPOTS ARE LIMITED.

The event will end with an Industry Mixer (Design Jam) where you will join industry professionals, associations and peers and put your new networking skills into practice on the topic of Sustainability. 

Dress Code: Smart/business attire. (Dress for the job you want! You'll be able to get your LinkedIn headshot on the day!) 

Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea are all included.

About Employability Events

The EAIT Student Employability Team host events in collaboration with industry. These sessions are often hands-on workshops, graduate panel events, and/or site tours.

Attending these events will:
