The Aerospace Gateway Schools Direct Entry Scheme is a great opportunity for students at participating secondary schools to receive a direct entry offer into the following programs at The University of Queensland:

If you are a current Year 12 student enrolled at one of the participating schools and you meet the criteria and prerequisites outlined in the Information for applicants, simply fill in the Application form and submit it to your Principal by the due date so they can fill in their part.

Information for Applicants     Application Form

Applications for 2018 entry are open with final applications due to UQ by 1September 2017.  Participating schools will be notified when applications open.

(Please see the 2018 entry Information for Applicants if you wish further details on how the scheme operates).

Applications submitted by the due date are considered by a selection panel and successful applicants are normally notified early in term four. Successful applicants are also eligible to study any of the broad range of specialisations we offer.

Access to these programs and our World-class facilities is limited to 26 places under this partnership scheme.

In previous years, the Aerospace Gateway Schools Direct Entry scheme has provided a pathway for many talented students to gain entry to Aerospace-related programs at The University of Queensland which can lead to participating in exciting projects such as the Hypersonic flight project.

To apply, you must:

  • be currently studying in Year 12 at a participating school;
  • have a strong interest in aerospace, engineering or information technology;
  • read the Information for applicants;
  • ensure you fill in your part of the Application form and submit it to your Principal no later than the advertised date;
  • make sure you have applied for a place in your preferred program through QTAC and that it is your highest eligible preference; and
  • continue to study hard to make sure you get good grades in Year 12.
