You are warmly invited to the Faculty's annual 'Celebrating Success' Breakfast hosted by UQ's Women in Engineering Alumni Network on Friday, 8 June from 7:30am - 9:00am at the Mercure in Brisbane.

Special guest speaker, Rebecca Pickering, has over 20 years experience in the UK and Australia’s energy industry.

Rebecca Pickering

Rebecca has worked within the UK and Australia’s energy industry for the past 23 years, including senior strategic roles within the electricity and gas retailing businesses of Ergon Energy and Energex. Rebecca most recently spent 12 years with Origin Energy leading teams as part of the $25 billion APLNG coal seam gas to LNG project, where she was responsible for securing all the environmental, land access, cultural heritage and community related approvals that allowed the project to proceed. Rebecca also led the start-up and first year of operations of those gas field assets in her subsequent role leading Operations. Throughout these roles she has had a clear focus on stakeholder engagement and building and preserving a strong reputation for the company. This experience of managing social licence within a mega-project is leading to new opportunities as Rebecca’s career enters a new phase.

Rebecca’s drive in the workplace comes from supporting the professional development of those that work with her. She has recently qualified as an organisational coach in order to fuel this interest and add further value in the workplace. Rebecca also holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical and Process Engineering and a MBA.

This annual event presents a unique opportunity for our alumni and broader community to celebrate the achievements of leaders in their respective fields, as they share their personal journey and definition for success.

As a valued member of the UQ community, we want to support you through having access to opportunities to network, engage in lively discussion and hear from thought leaders in industry. Register now to secure your ticket for this special alumni event! Tickets are $30 per person (breakfast included).
