The Faculty of EAIT conducts research in a diverse range of areas in the fields of engineering, information technology and architecture. Areas from Advanced Computational Modelling and Visualisation, to Hypersonics to Sustainable Mining are recognised in the Research Strengths, Priority Areas and Emerging Strengths of the Faculty of EAIT.
There are many research centres and cooperative research centres in the Faculty, conducting research in specialised areas. Many of these centres have an interdisciplinary focus and work in partnership with the schools in the Faculty and with schools and research centres in other faculties. EAIT research centres also have strong national and international links with other universities and research organisations.
The schools and research centres in the Faculty house an array of world class research facilities, used for both research and consulting activities, and are staffed by experts conducting research at the cutting edge of their field.
UQ's volunteer organisation, The Bridge, has established a website to connect research staff and postgraduate students with interested undergraduate student volunteers.
New Staff Research Start-Up Fund Opportunity
The University of Queensland New Staff Research Start-Up Fund (NSRSF) is a means by which the University provides resources to new staff to assist them to initiate an effective research strategy. Applications for UQ New Staff Research Start-Up Funds are to be lodged with the Research and Research Training Division (RRTD). Guidelines will be available throughout the year on the RRTD web page.
The cover sheet for EAIT applications is not the one available at the ORPS site. EAIT applicants should use the EAIT UQ New Start-Up Fund Application Coversheet.
Staff Expertise
Research expertise in the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology covers all major areas of research in information technology, engineering and the built environment. Research profiles for individual staff members are listed under each school.
