Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology research has received a significant boost in the latest round of Australian Research Council (ARC) funding.

A total of 23 projects representing a number of diverse research areas across the Faculty were awarded national funding to commence in 2010.

Faculty researchers were awarded funding for 18 projects under the ARC Discovery Projects scheme, a Federal Government initiative aimed at fostering excellence in fundamental research.

An additional seven projects were awarded ARC Linkage Grants, which encourage collaborative research between universities, industry and other organisations.

The University of Queensland (UQ) received a total of $44 million in funding for 91 projects under the ARC Discovery scheme and 19 projects in the Linkage scheme. UQ’s success rate was above the national average in both schemes.

The Faculty congratulates all researchers who were successful in this round of funding.
